Product Overview

Sepro’s new E100 Peristaltic Pump is the first major breakthrough in peristaltic pump technology in over 60 years, with the previous major advancement being the patent for fiber reinforcement of peristaltic pump hose.

The unique shape of the E100 Peristaltic Pump hose allows the unit to run at higher speeds with lower temperatures. It has the same open area as a conventional circular hose. This results in a peristaltic pump that will, in essence, out-pump your pump with the same conditions, for longer periods of time, resulting in lower long-term costs.

What does this mean?

The Sepro E100 Peristaltic Pump represents a step-change in the field of peristaltic pumping.? It opens the possibility for much larger peristaltic pumps that can withstand considerably higher pressures.? In addition, the unit power consumption in any given application will be significantly reduced.

Our tests show that the E100 Peristaltic Pump can produce at least 33% more output than any known 100mm peristaltic pump. Power consumption was measured at 28% lower than a competitor pump at the same output. Less heat coming out means that less energy is going in, resulting in half the stress and longer hose life.

Warning: loud noise. But if you work with pumps on a daily basis, you probably are already familiar with the sound.

We are confident that the Sepro E100 Peristaltic Pump will outperform your existing 100mm peristaltic pump on any of the following parameters:

KEY ADVANTAGES
  • Hose Life
  • Hose Temperature
  • Power Consumption
  • Maximum RPM
  • Output
  • Maximum Pressure

Sepro is offering a 100% guarantee on the above

If our pump does not exceed the performance of your pump on these parameters, we will offer you a complete refund, no questions asked.

The E100 Peristaltic Pump is expected to begin serial production in early 2025. Our initial market price will be comparable to other competing pumps on the market. Once a sufficient number of these pumps are sold, we cannot guarantee that these pumps will remain at their initial sales price.

Brief History of the E100 Peristaltic Pump

When Sepro first entered the mixing and pumping market in 2016, they noticed shortcomings in the existing hose design available in the market. A preliminary investigation into hose design revealed that peristaltic hose or tubing must:

Be stiff enough to resist collapse in the presence of an internal vacuum (negative pressure)
Withstand the repeated folding that is required to seal against internal positive pressure.

These requirements necessitate a trade-off to be made when using conventional, circular peristaltic pump hose technology:

  • Stiffness in peristaltic pump hose is achieved by making the walls thicker.
  • Thicker walls increase stress when the hose is sufficiently squeezed to seal against internal pressure.
  • Thin walls that can withstand high internal pressure will collapse under even partial vacuum.

As these issues become exponentially more severe as internal diameter (ID) increases, Sepro noticed that these trade-offs resulted in limitations within the peristaltic pump market.

With conventional hose design procedures, there is a natural barrier when wall thickness exceeds ~22mm. While it is possible to build and operate a peristaltic pump with nominal ID greater than 100mm, hose life will be short and internal pressure will have to be kept very low, certainly below 10 Bar. Another common issue with peristaltic pumps larger than 100mm is that hose changing becomes very difficult. These challenges result in most of the installed pump base using pumps of 100mm or less, with few exceptions.

In their journey to explore these issues in the market, Sepro not only solved the 100mm barrier, but created a peristaltic pump that would, in essence, out-pump all equivalent pumps in the industry.

Developing the E100 Peristaltic Pump

In January 2021, the idea for a new hose shape was born.

Sepro engineers aimed to create a peristaltic pump that achieved the required stiffness against vacuum collapse by making the top and bottom walls sufficiently thick to prevent vacuum collapse while keeping the side walls thin enough for efficient bending. This meant that the casing track and roller (or shoe) would be curved, significantly reducing the angle through which the side walls had to be folded.

This combination of features would reduce stresses sufficiently to allow much higher outputs from smaller pumps and allow for the construction of much larger peristaltic pumps.

After three years of development, including exhaustive FEA analysis paired with physical tests with actual hose and casings, Sepro was able to bring the E100 to life. The E100 has tested spectacularly, and the preproduction pump will soon go to a customer site for a long-term trial.
